A Japan Self-Defense Force soldier makes a terrain sketch during an unknown distance course of fire aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Jan. 28, 2016. This training was a part of Exercise Iron Fist; the largest bilateral exercise conducted by I Marine Expeditionary Force, and is aimed at improving the bilateral amphibious operation capabilities of the U.S. and Japan.
