A U.S. Marine wearing a historical uniform displays a brief background of the history of the Marine Corps from the Banana wars in 1927 during a birthday pageant, Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C.., Nov. 5, 2014. Cherry Point Marines and civilians attended a historical pageant and cake cutting ceremony celebrating the 239th birthday of the Marine Corps. Marines participating in the pageant displayed a range of historical uniforms from continental Marines to present day.
