Field of Empty Chairs - Public Domain image, National Parks Gallery
Summary
Spread across the original physical foot print of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, you will find 168 empty chairs. These tall straight bronze backed chairs, with their rose granite seats and opaque glass bases, force you to accept the hard reality of the many lives that were taken because of the Oklahoma Bombing. Walking through this field, one is surrounded by the names of the dead lightly etched onto each base.
