Frontispiece to 31 page book of 1843 by Solomon Willard, its architect, about "Plans & sections of the obelisk on Bunker's Hill with details of experiments made in quarrying." Shows no windows & no details of the stone-work at top of the monument. A military encampment at the foot seems to be firing a salute (view is from the S.) The "Advertisement" states that one purpose of the book is to show that actually the Monument was built at half the market price of such work.
