Garrison Dam, Intake House, 597 Garrison Dam Road, Riverdale, McLean County, ND
Summary
Significance: The intake house was built to take water in from Lake Sakakawea and conduct it to the powerhouse (HAER ND-15-A) via penstocks and surge tanks (HAER ND-15-B). The intake house maintained trash racks and had several sets of gates for regulating water supplied to the powerhouse. It also was the entrance for three regulating tunnels.
