[Hurricane Katrina] Lake Charles, LA, December 6, 2005 - Artwork and letters from local students adorn the walls at the newly opened Calcasieu Parish Long-Term Community Recovery Center in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The Louisiana Recovery Authority and FEMA have coordinated this long term recovery storefront operation to offer a place for citizens, businesses and organizations to gather, meet and obtain information on what opportunities exist to recover and rebuild the parish with focus on infrastructure, environment, housing and local economy.
