Members of the Afghan National Police and Army discuss current operations in Herat Province at the 207th Corps Headquarters with U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Michele Risi, commander of Train Advise Assist Command–West and Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction John F. Sopko. TAAC-West conducts functionally based security force assistance in order to maximize Afghan capacity to secure the population in the partnered region. The Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan enables, trains, advises and assists by providing essential resources in support and continued development of Afghan National Defense Security Forces.
