Salomon van Ruysdael was a Dutch painter who lived between 1600 and 1670. He was born in Naarden, the Netherlands, and was the nephew of the famous landscape painter Jacob van Ruisdael. His paintings are characterised by their attention to detail, particularly in the rendering of light and shadow.
