And when a pedigreed dog runs amuck he is even worse than his nondescript fellow-sinner. able safety on a lonely island, and then, with his dogs and one Eskimo, set out for civilization again. En route, his lead- ing dog, in trying to jump an ice-lane, fell into the water. He was quickly res- cued, but the sea-water on his hair al- most immediately became ice. To save the dog from freezing, the two men suc- cessfully chewed the ice out of their four- footed ally's coat.
