The Defences [sic] of Savannah, Georgia, November 1864.
Summary
Regional view of Savannah and enrivons just before the Union arrival at that place. Shows the layout of canals, creeks, rivers, swamps, roads and railroads around Savannah as well as the various outlying Confederate batteries and those occupied by Federal troops. There is some indication of the names of property owners and also notations of rice and cotton fields that were either flooded or became flooded during full tides. The Union blockade and the construction of the causeway to Charleston are also shown.
