Summary

U.S. Marines in Animal Packer Course 3-15 stand at the position of attention while their graduation citation is read during their graduation ceremony at the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center in Bridgeport, Calif., Sept. 15, 2015. The course is designed to teach Marines the lost combat art of handling pack animals, transporting gear, supplies, and wounded across rugged terrain too difficult for aircraft or vehicles. Marines with 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division (MARDIV), participate in a month-long field exercise focusing on core mission essential tasks such as assault climbing, animal packing and small unit movements, to strengthen expeditionary high altitude warfare tactics in a mountainous environment against a hybrid threat, as they prepare for world-wide deployment.
