U.S. Navy Capt. John Schultz (right) the commodore of Destroyer Squadron 15, presents the Meritorious Service Medal to Cmdr. Brian T. Mutty, the commanding officer of the guided missile destroyer USS Fitzgerald (DDG 62), during a change of command ceremony aboard the ship Dec. 17, 2012, at Naval Base Yokosuka, Japan. During the event, Mutty relinquished command to Cmdr. Jonathan L. Schmitz after serving as the Fitzgerald's skipper since July 2011.
