US President William Jefferson Clinton awards the Medal of Honor to Vietnam War Veteran, US Army (USA) Specialists Fourth Class (SPC4) Alfred Rascon. SPC4 Rascon served as a Medic with Reconnaissance Platoon, Headquarters Company, 1ST Battalion, 503rd Airborne Infantry, 173rd Airborne Brigade, and is being honored for his gallant and selfless actions during an intense enemy attack in the Long Khanh Province of Vietnam in March 1966
