U.S. Army Spc. Nicholas Vidro, assigned to 7th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment, interacts with a local resident during a D-Day 75th anniversary photo shoot, in Sainte-Mere-Eglise, France, May 31,2019. More than 1,300 U.S. service members and 950 military personnel from Europe and Canada are commemorating the 75th anniversary of WWII Operation Overlord, the Allied Invasion of Normandy, France, on June 6,1944, also known as D-Day. Participating military units will take part in more than 70 events from June 1-9, 2019, throughout almost 40 French Communities in the region.
