Lalon R. Bliss was particularly adept at capturing the personalities of his subjects, and his portraits were often praised for their naturalism and attention to detail. He was also known for his use of lighting and composition, which helped to create a sense of drama and depth in his images. In addition to his portrait work, Bliss also photographed landscapes and cityscapes. He was particularly drawn to the natural beauty of the American West and spent much of his career travelling throughout the region, capturing its rugged landscapes and scenic vistas. Bliss continued to work as a photographer well into his later years, dying in 1929 at the age of 89. Today his work is celebrated for its artistic merit and historical significance, and many of his images are in the collections of museums and galleries around the world.
