US Navy (USN) Landing Craft Utility (LCU) 1656 departs for New Orleans, Louisiana (LA), from the well deck of the USN Wasp Class Amphibious Assault Ship USS BATAAN (LHD 5), loaded with sand bags, water, a small flat-bottom boat, 300 lifejackets, a High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), and supplies to last 10 days.
