Mr. Miller, a mechanic by profession, acquired his hobby through the game of Monopoly. Trying his hand at the game, he liked it and decided to own a set, but determinied at the same time, that his would be home-made. Carving the tokens from wood, Mr. Miller's first creations were images of a tea kettle, flat iron, locomotive, hat, and shoe. He finally carved a duck. After hearing the experiences and hardships of the three Brazilian engineers, who finally arrived in the Capital today after a nine-year motor journey from Rio de Janeiro, Brazilian Ambassador Oswaldo Aranha tried his hand at cranking one of the original "flivvers" which survived the arduous trip. An old macaroni box filled with an arrangement of wheels, rubber bands, meat skewers and staples which was the forerunner of the modern key-driven, multiple-order calculating machine, was presented to the Smithsonian Institution today. The scarred old box was designed and constructed by Dorr E. Felt, young Chicago mechanic, 52 years ago when he first started in to solve the problem of what is now the modern calculating machine. He is an auto mechanic and came up to Columbus, Georgia two weeks ago from Albany, Georgia and now works at Columbus Motor Company. They couldn't find any other place to live so had to get a trailer.
