Fully loaded and equipped, this plane achieved the speed of 160 miles an hour and climbed 12,500 in 10 minutes. The machine is equipped with a Curtiss Type, model K 12 cylinder engine, capable of attaining 400 Horse Power. The plane is the very latest Curtiss, type 18. Now that the censorship has been released this photo shows the first aeroplane to be equipped with a Liberty Motor in flight. The late Col. Roosevelt made a flight in this machine. It was on August 21, 1917 that this plane with a Liberty Motor climbed 7,000 feet in 10 minutes and reached its maximum altitude of 19,000 feet in forty-one minutes.
