Dr. Thomas Parran, Surgeon General of the Public Health Service, told a Senate Education and Labor Subcommittee today that at least 500 of the 3,000 counties in the U.S. need new hospitals. Rumored peace conference of Pennsylvania democratic factions fails to materialize. Washington, D.C., May 24. The reported peace conference between Pennsylvania's warring democratic factions scheduled for today turned out to be a meeting of John L.
