1ST Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion loaned two M-93A1 FOX Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Reconnaissance System (NBCRS) vehicles to the 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion for NBC detection operations. The M93A1 is a lightly armored, wheeled vehicle capable of detecting, identifying, marking, sampling and reporting NBC contamination on the battlefield. There are only four of the FOX vehicles on the West Coast. This night vision photograph was taken to train Marines who are unfamiliar with the vehicle's features, and how to identify them on the battlefield at night.
