If we have to make speeches until morning!' Austin on Senate filibuster. Washington, D.C., July 1. The Senate met at noon yesterday and kept going until 1:53 the next morning. Reason was that a republican bloc, opposed to allowing the President continued power to devalue the dollar and the Treasury to dip into the $2,000,000,000 stabilization fund, filibustered until midnight, at which time the power was supposed to lapse. Some opinion held that the power could again be granted, even after that time, so Senator Warren R. Austin told reporters that he had a list of 10 Senators who would speak if it held the Senate in session until dawn. The monetary authorization was, as was promised, 'talked to death'

The 'Mosquito Boat' and eight other ones will be based at the naval operating base, Norfolk, Virginia, where they will undergo service tests under various sea conditions to determine their capabilities and limitations. This is the same type of boat that the government is in the process of releasing to the British Navy. Chairman David L. The new 'flying tube' airship. Washington, D.C., Mar. 14. Immediate commercial development of a new lighter-than-air airship of novel design, which its engineering sponsors believe will revolutionize air transportation, bringing safety, speed, load capacity, and easy maneuverability to airship performance, was announced today. Air sucked through the tube will create a vacuum in front and give a propulsive kick at the outlet. Universal joints will be located at the entrance and exit of the tube, moving in any direction of the air intake and outlet, thus steering the flying tube. The ship will be entirely metal clad and the lifting power will be helium gas in aluminum partitions. Garret W. Peck, designer and vice pres. in charge of construction, left; and Clifford C.
