A US Navy Landing Craft Air Cushioned (LCAC) LC 81, from Assault Craft Unit-5 (ACU-5) Detachment, West Pacific, Sasebo, Japan, glides onto a Gogu Beach for the D-Day Mobile Fuel Distribution System (DMFDS) concept demonstration in support of FOAL EAGLE 2000. The DMFDS is a Force Warfighting Lab (FWL) sponsored by the Office of Naval Research (ONR) funded project which demonstrates new techniques in the first ever transfer of fuel from the sea to land. FOAL EAGLE is the largest Joint and Combined field training drill conducted annually in South Korea, running from October 25th to November 3rd.
