description

Summary

A special operations medic assigned to 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) applies a bag-valve-mask (BVM) to a casualty training aid during a medical simulation training exercise at Fort Carson, Colo., April 6, 2017. A BVM is used to provide oxygen to casualties who are unable to breathe on their own. The training is designed to refine their tactical application of casualty care under fire. The medics practiced their ability to assess, treat, and evacuate a casualty in a controlled environment under the mentorship of senior Group medics. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. Will Reinier)
