Aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) participates in the Great Green Fleet demonstration portion of the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2012 exercise in the Pacific Ocean July 18, 2012. Nimitz took on 200,000 gallons of biofuel in preparation for the demonstration. RIMPAC is a U.S. Pacific Command-hosted biennial multinational maritime exercise designed to foster and sustain international cooperation on the security on the world?s oceans.
