PHILIPPINE SEA (Jun. 30, 2007) Aviation Ordnanceman 3rd Class Ashley Cameron plays in the medical ward of amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu (LHA 5) with a Filipino patient who was born with a cleft palate. Each day up to 15 patients are flown to the ship via helicopter to undergo medical procedures in support of Pacific Partnership 2007. Peleliu is uniquely capable of supporting medical and humanitarian assistance needs and has been configured with special medical equipment and a robust multi-specialized medical team to provide a range of services.
