After the discussion period, the operators are ready to convert their newly acquiredknowledge into action at a controlled practice session course, while those which are encoun-tered only occasionally are postponeduntil some time later. After this information has beenobtained, a master program is pre-pared to indicate the amount of timeto be spent on each type of call orcondition. The master program isbased on the average time that wasrequired by previously trained newoperators to attain the state of pro-ficiency which is desirable for thisinitial training. While the masterprogram is based on averages andwill prove to be satisfactory in mostcases, it is by no means rigid; it canbe changed as to both the time tobe devoted to separate items andto total length of course—depending on the aptitude of the new operatorsbeing trained.
