Capt. Joey C. San Nicolas, commander, Echo Company, 1st Battalion, 294th Infantry Regiment, Guam Army National Guard, furls his unit guidon Dec. 23 at Camp Phoenix, Kabul, Afghanistan, signifying his unit's completion of Operation Enduring Freedom. Echo was one of Guam's busiest companies as it stretched troops to five Afghanistan locations. The unit's remaining soldiers will leave Afghanistan shortly after Christmas Day.
