Summary

Persian Gulf (May. 31, 2005) Commander, Carrier Air Wing Nine (CVW-9), Capt. J.D. Spence and Executive Officer, USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70), Capt. DeWolfe Miller stand along side a Television monitor that is being utilized for Video Tele Conference (VTC) of Chief Engineer, Cmdr. Mark Bracco's retirement ceremony. The entire ceremony was transmitted via VTC to Cmdr. Bracco's family in Bremerton, Wash.

The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is currently deployed in support of multi-national forces in Iraq and maritime security operations. Vinson will end its deployment with a homeport shift to Norfolk, Va., and commence a three-year refuel and complex overhaul.
