Egyptian - Slave - Walters 542372
Summary
Slaves, very common in Hellenistic society, were of all nationalities, even Greek. Nubians from the Sudan were brought by camel caravan up the Arabian coast. This figure's struggle, probably against the strain of a heavily laden cart, is eloquently communicated by his posture.
