Summary
Vorne rechts: Denkmal für Colombus (Mirador de Colom), daneben: Gobierno Militar de Barcelona, die beiden Kirchen im Hintergrund sind: Basilica de Santa Maria Pi (vorne) und die Catedral de la Santa Creu i Santa Eulàlia mit den beiden eckigen Türmen. Aufnahmestandort: höchstwahrscheinlich etwa auf der Höhe des Passeig Miramar (Montjuïc)
Walter Mittelholzer was a Swiss aviation pioneer and photographer. He was one of the first pilots to fly in the Swiss Alps and made many flights over the mountains, taking photographs that helped to map and survey the area. He also flew in Africa and the Middle East, taking photographs and making films of landscapes and people. He died in 1937 while on a flight over the Sudan.
The ETH-Bibliothek's collection contains about 18,000 photographs taken by Walter Mittelholzer (1894 – 1937) and Albert Heim (1849 – 1937) between 1924 and 1934.
