Henry Richard Graves - The Honourable Mark George Kerr Rolle
Summary
Hon. Mark Rolle (1835–1907) of Stevenstone, St Giles in the Wood, Devon. He is shown with foxhounds of his own Stevenstone Hunt, apparently with a background of terraced estate cottages built by him in St Giles-in-the-Wood. Collection of Barnstaple Town Council. On display in Council Chamber, Guildhall, Barnstaple, North Devon. This is a very large painting which dominates the Council Chamber and all the other many portraits displayed in it. Mark Rolle held the honorary position of High Steward of Barnstaple.
