Jan van Beers - Henri Rochefort

description

Summary

Picryl description: Public domain photo of portrait art painting, free to use, no copyright restrictions image.

Jan van Beers (1852–1927) was the leader of a group of young ambitious art students, the so-called "Van Beers clique". Besides him, the group included artists Pete Everhart, Joseph Lambeau, and others. They were widely known for their eccentric behavior, (for example, they walked around Antwerp dressed in historical costumes of previous eras. Young van Beers often strolled around the city in a woman's, deeply decollete dress).
