Summary
Engraved map of the area around Breda in the Netherlands at the time of the siege and recapture of the city by forces under command by Frederick Henry of Nassau in July 1637. Print shows the walled city of Breda and outer fortifications of Teteringen and Ginneken as well as smaller outlying settlements and other cartographic details. Inset in lower left of print shows details of the hornwork of the fortress which was mined on September 7, breaching the walls of the fortress. The key in the inset labeled a-q gives a brief explanation of the details. Additional printed explanations throughout the image.
