Summary

OCEANSIDE, Calif. (May. 10, 2011) Sailors assigned to port operations of Naval Base San Diego deploy a high-speed oil containment system during the demonstration portion of a three-day triennial San Diego Preparedness for Response Program (PREP) exercise, which is being conducted to improve the effectiveness of the San Diego Area Contingency Plan (ACP). The completion of the PREP exercise satisfies all Oil Pollution Act of 1990 mandates and enhances interagency cooperation and provides a unified directed response to major oil spills.
