Spanish Belduque - National Parks Gallery
Summary
The belduque, sometimes called a 'peasant knife' after the people who generally carried them, is a large Spanish knife that some believe to be the ancestor of the Bowie knife. This belduque was made sometime in the 17th century; it has a horn handle and decorative engravings, including the name of the cutler who made it: Juan Sedache.
