The Home of the Commandants overlooks the family garden during the Evening Parade reception at Marine Barracks Washington, D.C., May 22, 2015. Deputy Secretary of Defense Robert Work was the guest of honor for the parade at Marine Barracks Washington, D.C., and Gen. John M. Paxton, the 33rd assistant commandant of the Marine Corps, was the hosting official. The Evening Parade summer tradition began in 1934 and features the Silent Drill Platoon, the U.S. Marine Band, and the U.S. Marine Drum and Bugle Corps, and two marching companies.
