The only way for many residents of Grand Forks, North Dakota, and East Grand Forks, Minnesota, to retrieve their belongings from their flood ravaged homes is by boat. The flooding of the Red River caused some 50,000 residents to leave and flee to shelters in the sounding area and on Grand Forks Air Force Base
