"230. Vanførehjemmet. Fra skolestuen. Vikarlærerinne frk. Kløften. G.54" står det på glassplaten. Dette kan være fra Bjerkly vanførehjem, opprettet av Finnemisjonen i 1913. I boka Finnemisjoen er det beskrevet slik: "Det var det første skolehjem for vanføre i Norge og det første som fikk statsbidrag. Stedet ble betydelig utvidet og påbygget i 1934, for å gi plass til flere barn. Bjerkly ble drevet som et skoleinternat hvor barna skulle få boklig og praktisk opplæring." Under krigen ble 11 barn og 4 voksne evakuert til Trøndelag. Vanførehjemmet ble ikke skadet under krigen og sto derfor også etter krigen. Vanførehjemmet huser nå Fjellheim Bibelskole. Kunstneren Iver Jåks talent ble oppdaget på Vanførehjemmet Bjerkely under sitt opphold der.
