White Sands, New Mexico (Jun. 12, 2006) Missile Defense Agency Director, U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Henry Obering, announced the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Element test conducted today at approximately 5:20 a.m. Mountain Time, 7:20 a.m. Eastern Standard Time at the White Sands Missile Range was successful. Initial indications are that all planned flight test objectives were achieved. The launch was a fully integrated flight test of all THADD components, including the launcher, radar, fire control and communications and interceptor.
