Summary
U.S. Marine Capt. John Fuoss, Lima Company Commander from Battalion Landing Team, 3rd Battalion 4th Marines, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, and Douglas, Colorado native, cuts the cake during a cake cutting ceremony on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, December 7, 2020. The ceremony was designed to celebrate the birth of the Corps. The first piece of cake is eaten by the guest of honor, the second piece is given to the oldest Marine present and the third is given to the youngest Marine. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps' only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
