U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. William Pendleton, force reconnaissance platoon, 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), radio operator and native of Washington, Tenn., gears up for a bilateral parachute jump exercise on Naval Station Rota, Spain, Feb. 25, 2014. The force reconnaissance Marines conducted the exercise along with Spanish special forces. The MEU is deployed to the U.S. 6th Fleet area of responsibility with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group as a sea-based, expeditionary crisis response force capable of conducting amphibious missions across the full range of military operations.
