This is a cave cricket or camel cricket found in the Exit Tunnel of Oregon Caves. Notice how long its appendages and antennae are.
These are formations known as soda straws and like soda straws they are hollow tubes. They are made up of the mineral calcite.
Water drops into a cave pool and makes ripples. Water is vital to the life of the cave and the cave itself. It helps the cave continue to change and grow.
This is the river that flows through Oregon Caves, and it is called the River Styx. When it flows out of the cave, the river is called Caves Creek and this eventually reaches the Pacific Ocean.
