BAN TALONG, THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF LAOS (Nov. 5, 2012) Dr. Nick Passalacqua of Recovery Team 4 tosses a sandbag to the local workers in a line, who are passing the bags to a closed digging unit, to help keep the filled dirt buckets from falling down the hill. As recovery teams from the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command (JPAC) dig in search of fallen servicemembers, the dirt is put into buckets and buckets passed to a screening station. There, members of the team and local workers sift the dirt through screens in hopes of finding evidence and possibly even remains that will help in locating the fallen. JPAC's ongoing mission is to search for and recover the remains of fallen servicemembers from past American conflicts until they are all home. (Navy photo by Seaman Clifford Bailey/Released)
