SAN FRANCISCO (Oct. 2, 2016)- Sailors assigned to the Medical Department aboard amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22) and Fleet Surgical Team Nine simulate treating a patient during the 2016 Francisco Fleet Week Peer-to-Peer Medical Exchange (MEDEX). MEDEX unites the San Francisco Bay Area’s medical responder community to serve as a critical testing environment for operational information sharing, coordinated resource movement, tactical allocation of military and civilian medical assets, and best practices.
