RED SEA (Dec. 01, 2016) Petty Officer 3rd Class Jonathan Doerr, from Fredericksburg, Va., conducts a sounding check on a oil tank in main engine room two of the guided-missile cruiser USS San Jacinto (CG 56). Doerr serves aboard the San Jacinto as a gas turbine system technician and is responsible for the upkeep of the ships engines. San Jacinto, deployed as part of the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, is supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
