CAPU MIDIA, Romania (March 19, 2017)—An assault amphibious vehicle attached to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) fires smoke flares while approaching the shore of Capu Midia training grounds in Romania during exercise Spring Storm 2017, March 19. The 24th MEU participated in the Romanian-led bilateral maritime training evolution. The 24th MEU is deployed with the Bataan Amphibious Readiness Group to support maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th and U.S. 6th Fleet areas of operation.
