(April 28, 2017) – Jake Gregg, a fishery biologist with the United States Geological Survey (USGS), measures a fish with students from Blue Heron Middle School during a community outreach beach seining at Naval Magazine Indian Island. This is the third year the USGS has teamed up with Blue Heron Middle School and Naval Magazine Indian Island to conduct beach seinings in preparation for the Kilsut Spit waterflow to be opened between Marrowstone and Indian Island.
