WASHINGTON (May 17, 2018) - The Fiscal Year 2017 U.S. Fleet Forces Sailor of the Year Chief Naval Aircrewman (Operator) John Herrman, assigned to Patrol Squadron (VP) 16 in Jacksonville, Fla., embraces his children after being pinned to his new rank during the annual Sailor of the Year ceremony at the U.S. Navy Memorial in Washington. Herrman is one of four Navy Sailors of the year (SOYs).
