180710-N-NH199-0013 JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii (July 10, 2018) Deputy Commander, U.S. Pacific Command Lt. Gen. Brian Fenty is rung on Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam before taking a tour of the ship during Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise July 10. Twenty-five nations, more 46 ships and five submarines, about 200 aircraft, and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 27 to Aug. 2 in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. The world’s largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity wile fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships between participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security of the world’s oceans.
