Summary

Français : Les échappés pendant la 9e étape du Tour de France 1936

The 1936 Tour de France was the 30th edition of the race and was held from July 7 to August 2. The race covered a total distance of 4,400 km (2,734 mi) and was divided into 21 stages. The race was won by Sylvère Maes of Belgium, who rode for the Alcyon team. Maes had won the race in 1935 and again in 1939. He finished the 1936 race with a time of 136 hours, 20 minutes and 47 seconds. The podium was completed by French riders, with Antone Magne of the Peugeot team in second place and Jules Rossi of the Alcyon team in third. The 1936 Tour de France was notable for being the first edition of the race to include a mountain time trial stage. This stage took place on the Col du Galibier, one of the highest mountain passes in the French Alps, and was won by French rider Sylvain Marcaillou. The race was also marked by controversy, as French rider Roger Lapébie was disqualified from the race after being caught receiving illegal assistance from a team car during a stage.
